2D1N Holiday Inn Batam Day 1

Booked a surprise getaway trip to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. I was initially thinking of having a nice dinner but it is not very worth it to spend $200 just on a 2-hour dinner so I decided to pamper ourselves with a relax trip! Booked the Holiday Inn package through JA Travel and 60-minute massage for us! Total cost is $248 for 2.

Changed for Rupiah at the Harbourfront ferry terminal. I am always so glad to have a very smart boyfriend who is super good in maths and planning stuffs. I can never teach our children in the future. LOL.
Almost threw away my boarding pass because it looked exactly like the receipt!
A picture of us on the ferry! It was quite empty on board so we could choose our seats hehehe :D
The journey took approximately 1 hr 10 mins and we reached Waterfront ferry terminal!
The Holiday Inn van was already waiting for us outside and we took less than 3 mins to reach the hotel.
Checked in to our bedroom suite! It looks damn awesomeeeee. Only thing is that we got 2 single beds instead of a king size bed :( I was quite upset but Gary say it's ok, he didn't want to change room again so we just stick with the original room.
We got a poolside view balcony tho :D It was really nice and peaceful.
Washed up and headed to have our first meal at Batam - Dragon Inn Chinese Restaurant. We were so hungry!
It was pretty empty in the restaurant. Ok it was generally quite empty inside Holiday Inn and their facilities. Which was good! Because I didn't want spend our relax getaway with so many people.
The porridge was surprisingly good and I love the dimsum too! Their prices were around SGD rates so it wasn't cheap but still affordable.

After our lunch we asked for a cab at the hotel to go to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall :D It's S$16 per trip and the cab is not those lok kong cab you find on the streets. It's the more classy and safe looking one. Thumbs up! Arranged with the driver to pick us up at 7pm and off we went to shopping!

First stop is a must must go place! Hypermart!
Everything was super cheap except for some of the imported goods which is the same price as Singapore.
We bought necessities like hair dye ($10), toothbrush ($1), Salonpas gel (<$3),Biore Men's pack ($1) etc etc. Their shampoos is like $1 per bottle :O :O :O Not those chapalang brand ok. Is those you can find in S'pore one!! Even the cigarettes are soooo cheap there!! I think it's $2 per packet?! You really WILL go crazy inside.

Shopped around the mall and went to the famous Food Street. Had my A&W!! Always a must for me when I travel to Malaysia or Indonesia because there is no A&W in Singapore anymore :(
I think it's less than S$2 :O :O
Bought some kueh lapis back for our parents and had dinner at a seafood stall at the Food Street.
Look at the crazy amount of food we ordered just for the 2 of us! For S$30!
Random face of mine... hahaha
Went to an even more :O place. Timezone!
Their games are $0.30 per play :O I totally can play racing car like siao lol.
Went back to our hotel at night.
Decided to rest a bit before our massage session at Tea Tree Spa at night. But Gary was having a terrible stomachache. He have a very very weak gastric and they somehow builds air inside (??) His expression totally look like an alien was going to come out of his stomach!! Seriously I was REALLY scared. Tried to ask him to go to the doctor downstairs (There's a clinic inside the hotel) but he insisted not to. After resting for a bit, he felt better. And we proceeded to the massage!

Got an hour's massage in the couple room and needless to say their service was really good! I fell asleep halfway through hahaha. The staff told us to come for our complimentary sauna and jacuzzi if we are free the next day!

Had supper at Terrace Cafe around 11pm cos the boy was hungry.
Beef burger for Gary!
Just Tomato Soup for me.
Best thing about the cafe is that there is Wifi there hahaha. So you can just sit there, chill and use internet!
But I can't chill because there were 2 cats outside. Wtf I am really scared of them ok. The waiters were nice to help me chase them away hahaha but they still keep coming back -.-

Head back to the hotel to sleep as we are soooo tired!
I will continue Day 2 in the next post!! :)
