Taipei Short Trip Part 1

Gary and I booked a Taiwan trip in the first week of October. It was a super impromptu decision and despite being my job's peak period, I manage to squeeze out 5 days (with weekends) for this trip. Since it's just 5 days, we decided not to be too ambitious and just tour around Taipei city. It was also a treat for my birthday since we couldn't celebrate it due to exam period.

Right after exams ended, I took afternoon leave and headed to the airport! (:
Thankful for the boyfriend who helped to bring the luggage to the airport while I still went to work in the morning! Had tons of emails to clear and I was in a mad rush.

In my comfy Love Bonito's Emile Frock for flight!
He went to cut this ah beng hair idk why -_- Now grow out already la.

We took TigerAir despite me swearing that I will never book TigerAir ever again cause it's so mad uncomfortable but I couldn't resist the cheap air tickets so......  -_-

We reached Taipei Airport about 9ish in the night and the queues was so long omg.
As per recommended in many websites, we bought the bus tickets to the main Taipei station but the queues were soooo long and it was so late.
And Gary being Gary wants to take the cab. Luckily the ticket counter girl was nice enough to give us a refund for the bus tickets and we headed to the taxi stand.
Taxi fares from the airport to our minsu which is at Ximending cost a whopping NT$1100 (~SGD$50)
My heart broke a little wtf.

We booked a minsu for our Taipei trip as all the hotels were almost fully booked.
Found this gem online and decided to try it out.
South Island Taipei Homestay is located about 5 mins walk away from Ximen station.
There is a huge 7-11 just downstairs and a family mart opposite the road.
One of the owner Xiao Wei picked us up from downstairs and brought us up to our room. He also patiently explained to us how to open the lock, use the washing machine, remote control etc etc. A really friendly guy!

Our room for the first night (:  Room #2
Clean toilet that comes with all toiletries you need.

Taiwan's convenience store is LOVE
Taking my OOTD in a 7-11 LOL. Taiwanese, judge me for all you want.
Oh by the way, you have to try the 关东煮 when in Taiwan! They have it in all the 7-11. It's something like Yong Tau Foo/ Lok Lok. Freaking amazing stuff!

Couldn't wait any longer the next morning and headed straight for my favvvv breakfast push cart!

Freaking good!
& of course, not forgetting the famous Ah Zhong Mian Xian!

Started our first day itinerary! Taipei Zoo + Mao Kong Gondola!
They are located at the same station and you can practically spend your whole day here!
Took a cable car up and shared the cabin with a Taiwan family. They were super friendly and told us what is nice up there etc etc :D
The taiwanese were pretty amazed by our selfie stick LOL. Idk why also.
I thought it is very well known all around the world.
Reached!!
The air was so fresh up there!
I initially thought that there were nothing much but some scenery looking up at the mountain.
Turns out that there are a lot of food stall along the streets and small cafes for you to enjoy afternoon tea while admiring the sceneries!
Gary's favorite sausage. I bet he ate like 10 sticks during the whole trip -_-
The gate is too pretty not to snap a photo hahaha
We took a cable car to about 2 stops down where the Taipei Zoo is and the cable car aunty was so nice to let us have a cabin to ourselves because she say couple must be alone hahahaha WHAT.
Ok lor, opportunity to 胡闹 in the cable car LOL. Like such.
The Taipei Zoo is a must go! It's super huge and the entrance fee is only like SGD$2.50 :O
Super cheap and worth it.
Saw this enormous tortoise at the first station :O
WHAT. It is like my size omg.
I just realised we got photobomb by a kid molesting the penguin on the left -_-
Pretty flowers along the wayyyyy! :)
Gary gave me a "-_-" face and complain that "flowers also must take meh......"
BOYS! =_=
This King Kong came sooooo near to us wtf. All the people at the panel literally stopped breathing.
And this stupid China girl had to go and bang the glass and the King Kong immediately left.
WTF damn annoying la. Feel like banging her head on the glass -_-
Selfies with the camels!
By the time we finish the zoo trip, it was about 4pm and we headed back to Ximending to check in our hotel for Day 2!
